  • The premises of the chemical and industrial park of about 232 hectares is completely developed and connected to the federal road and freeway network. More than half of the area available for settlement has been sold to investors.
  • There is a wide range of activities: from the production of adipic acid (one of the raw materials for polyester fibers), through the production of high-quality basic oils in a waste oil refinery to the production of special waxes for the paper and cosmetics industries as well as wheat starch production. Industrial services from electromechanics to pump repair, from computer technology to laboratory and financial services are available. Among the resident companies there are recycling enterprises within the dual system and others utilizing demolition and construction materials. The companies on site are currently employing a workforce of about 1,000 from the surrounding cities and villages as well as from adjoining states of Saxony and Thuringia.

  • With the foundation of the competence center for industrial treatment of biomass (Kompetenzzentrums für industrielle Verarbeitung von Biomasse Burgenlandkreis) an important step has been taken towards a merger of traditional chemistry on the basis of fossil raw materials and industrial biochemistry.
  • Since April 2005, the ZSG Zeitzer Standortgesellschaft mbH - now Infra-Zeitz Servicegesellschaft mbH - has been a member of the Saxony-Anhalt Environmental Alliance and has committed itself to applying the rules of closed-circuit economy, to using renewable primary products, improving the soil and immission protection as well as economizing electric power.
